Professional Experience
Alexandre da Fonte Filho has more than 30 years of experience in the legal structuring of corporate investments, as well as in the planning of asset organization of business groups and their operations, in its corporate and tax aspects. Specialized in tax consulting involving tax incentives existing in the Northeastern Region of Brazil. Having legal, accounting and business administration academic experience, and concomitant practice in the corporate and tax areas, he is responsible for the integration of the Business (M&A, Corporate and Contracts) and the Tax practices of office, ensuring that operations are implemented with fiscal efficiency and corporate consistency. He has a robust experience in tax litigations, both in the administrative and judicial instances.

Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.), Universidade Federal de Pernambuco; Bachelor in Accounting Science (B.Sc.), Universidade Católica de Pernambuco; Certificate of Special Studies (CSS) in Administration and Management, Harvard University (Cambridge, USA), awarded the Katie Y. F. Yang Prize; Postgraduate Degree in Business Law, Fundação Getúlio Vargas – FGV.
Other activities
Alexandre is a member of the Regional Board of the American Chamber of Commerce in Recife (AMCHAM), and is a mentor of Endeavor, helping with the legal evaluation of companies engaged for the mentorship of such institution, in the corporate, contractual and fiscal areas. He is a member of the executive committee in Pernambuco of the IBGC – Brazilian Institute for Cooperate Governance. He is a member of the Board of the Intelligence Tax School in Recife for strategy on innovation. Worked as a Director of the Administrative Council of Fiscal Resources – CARF (formerly, Taxpayers’ Council) of the Ministry of Finance of Brazil (2005 to 2011), where he took up the positions of Vice-Chairman of the 1st Taxpayers’ Council, of its Higher Chamber of Fiscal Resources and Vice-Chairman of the First Trial Section.
Acknowledgments and awards
Awarded by the British publication Chambers and Partners Latin America in 2020, for his practice in tax law, classified on the Band 1 of lawyers that practice tax law in the Northeast of Brazil. Awarded as a Leading Individual in General Business Law in Brazil for the publication Chambers and Partners Latin America during the years of 2017, 2018 e 2019. Awarded with the Katie Y. F. Yang Prize by the Harvard University, as the international student with the best academic performance, 1997. Coauthor of the book “Um Retrato da Advocacia Pernambucana” – Editora Bagaço – Recife, 2012.
