João Lessa spearheads complex cases and litigations, either individual and collective, involving business and Civil Law matters, as well as alternative means for settling disputes, particularly arbitration. Also experienced in drafting contracts, dispute prevention and business reorganization and Bankruptcy Law. Responsible for the coordination of the branch of the São Paulo’s office.

João Lessa was also an interim coordinator for the office’s area of Court-Supervised Reorganization and Bankruptcy. In addition to lawyer, João Lessa has academic background and is a former professor of General Theory of Private Law of Nova Roma (affiliate of Getulio Vargas Foundation in Recife). Former trainee of Teaching of the Subject of Arbitration Law at the Federal University of Pernambuco. Graduate Program Professor of Civil Law and Civil Procedure at Faculdade Estácio of Recife and Escola Paulista de Direito. Guest Professor of the Higher Schools of Law in Pernambuco and São Paulo. Professor of the Mediation and Arbitration Program of the National Institute of Mediation and Arbitration. Member of the arbitrators´ list of the Centro de Mediação e Arbitragem de Pernambuco (CEMAPE) and of the Câmara de Mediação e Arbitragem Especializada (CAMES).
